What is development?

In this context, it is the use of computer programming languages to create business solutions exactly tailored to a clients needs. This may be a new website, e-commerce, internal stock control or accounts for example.

What languages do you use?

As a Microsoft Partner, our development skills are in the Microsoft arena. Although we have experience with a multitude of development environments over three decades, we mainly use the Microsoft suite as they are productive, cost effective and have a skill base readily available allowing support to be easily managed. Current examples of languages are Transact-SQL, C# and vb.net as part of Visual Studio .net, C++, C, Visual Basic, HTML, Java and products such as Access, IIS and SQL Server.

What is involved with the process?

This would depend upon your objectives. Amita can provide programming resource to work under your instruction, create detailed specifications with development cycles lasting months or anything in-between.

So I can manage my own development?

Of course.

But I can hand it over to you too?

Yes. The level of feedback is entirely down to you, although of course we can advise. We are skilled at hitting deadlines and budgets. This is because we have vast experience in the whole development cycle and can set expectations accurately at the outset.

Can you interface to my existing systems?

Usually yes. Most common applications that you can acquire “off the shelf” have all the necessary tools for us to link into. If you have an older application or another 3^rd party developed application then the answer would almost certainly be yes too, except that the level of integration may come with some limitations.

Do I own the development?

100%. When our development is complete and installed and you have signed it off as complete, we deliver all of the source code to you.

What does it cost?

We charge our development time the same as the time for project managing and design. These rates are the same as the support rates and we can estimate quite accurately.

Can I have a fixed cost?

If you provide us with a “fixed” specification, then certainly. We can analyse the specification and quote accordingly. If you cannot provide us with a fixed specification then we can assist in the creation of one. The writing of a specification can be a fixed cost.
